Corbett Jungle

Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park located in north of India. The park – named after the hunter – turned conservationist Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment – was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and is a centre of attraction for tourists from within and outside India.

As ecotourism destination, it contains 488 different species of plants and a diverse variety of fauna. Corbett has been a haunt for tourists and wildlife lovers for a long time. People who come here get an opportunity to see its splendid landscape and the diverse wildlife.

The Jim Corbett National Park is a heaven for the adventure seekers and wildlife adventure lovers alike. Corbett National Park is India’s first national park which comprises 520.8 sq.km areas of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grass lands and large lake. Dense moist deciduous forest covers almost 73 percent of the park. The 10 per cent of the area consists of grass lands. It houses around 110 trees species, 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species. The endangered Bengal tiger of India resides here.

Booking Procedure

All safaris need to be booked with the Forest Department, Ramnagar Forest Office. The reserve is divided into four zones, each with a separate entrance. In order to preserve the park area and not disturb the animals there is a restriction on the number of vehicles that can enter the park.

Advance Booking of Jeep Safari

As Corbett is a popular destination, we recommend booking the morning safari in advance in any of the four zones. The park makes bookings on a first cum first serve basis and requires a non-refundable advance with identity proof and guest details. In order to best plan your holiday, we recommend you book in advance by sending your details to the hotel. Indian National’s need to give a photo id proof, while Foreign Visitors need to send in Passport details.

Photo Id – Driving License/ Voter Id / Pan Card. Please carry the same ID with you when you go for the safari.

Passport Details – Passport Number, Full Name & Gender, Date of Issue and expiry, date of Birth, Nationality is required.

Afternoon Safaris – This cannot be booked in advance, and is on first cum first basis at the Ramnagar Forest office.
